Find Your Perfect Rental
So, there are two main options for you when you are looking for an apartment or a room for rent in San Sebastian. As you may already know, San Sebastian is a very touristic place and the housing crisis is everywhere, here as well.
For this reason, I would recommend you to either find a place before arriving (Plan A) or find a temporary place (Plan B) where you can stay while you find something more stable.
PLAN A: Find A Rom or An Apartment
The most used options to find an apartment are: Idealista and Fotocasa.
Recommendations:
If you are renting anything online, you should sadly be aware of scams. I would recommend you to do the following:
- Schedule a videocall. If the landperson is not offering you an online visit, but they are asking you to pay. Then it is highly likely a scam. Avoid it.
- If you did a videocall, and everything seems right, the landperson will ask you for a deposit. I would propose you to pay half of the deposit (or a portion of it) with the warranty of paying the rest once you had already moved in and seen the place. When people are honest, they usually agree on that.
PLAN B: Temporary Place
For this, I would recommend you to check some Facebook groups, Booking or Airbnb or Instagram groups. From time to time there are people moving for a small period of time from San Sebastian and they usually post their rooms-apartments in Idealista and Fotocasa as well.
