If you are renting anything online, you should sadly be aware of scams. I would recommend you to do the following:

  1. Schedule a videocall. If the landperson is not offering you an online visit, but they are asking you to pay. Then it is highly likely a scam. Avoid it.
  2. If you did a videocall, and everything seems right, the landperson will ask you for a deposit. I would propose you to pay half of the deposit (or a portion of it) with the warranty of paying the rest once you had already moved in and seen the place. When people are honest, they usually agree on that.
